We’re all awesome, right? Well, I mean we didn’t create the world or anything like that, but I think most of us pretty much have it going on. However, there can be some negative aspects of being creative. Creative people can sometimes struggle with mild cases of the God Complex.

According to a recent Pew survey, 21 percent of atheists in the United States believe in “God or a universal spirit,” and 8 percent are “absolutely certain” that such a Being exists. One wonders if they were also “absolutely certain” they understood the meaning of the term “atheist.” Claiming to be an atheist who believes in God is like claiming to be a happily married bachelor. Rarely does one discover nonsense in such a pristine state. Still this hasn’t stopped many people from concluding that there is a schism in the atheist community.

While I know there are Integral formulations along the lines of " god in the first, second and third person" that speak to this, I am not sure i am comfortable with that formulation given the history of the word "god" and it's definition in the minds of the vast majority of people. I also don't really find I have much use for terms that in common usage refer to a supernatural metaphysics that I find fantastical (indeed delusional) and beside the point.

Science will never be able to prove or disprove the existence of God or any higher power. Isn’t this the cornerstone of faith, after all: a belief that needs no proof? Or perhaps, maybe the proof has been in our brains the whole time.
