Predictify the 2007 World Series
(Crossposted from www.c4chaos.com)
World Series 2007 starts tonight.
As much as I would like to cheer on the Colorado Rockies, the "Curse of the Bambino" had already been lifted, and my gut tells me that the Red Sox will do a repeat of their 2004 World Series Championship. After all they did a repeat already of their postseason comeback, this time against the Cleveland Indians. So momentum and adrenalin are on their side.
Serendipitously, I just signed up for a web service called Predictify. So one of my first predictions is on World Series - Red Sox Vs. Rockies. Check it out, make your own prediction and see if the wisdom of the crowd will be correct.
If you don't care about sports, you can try to predict who would win the Iowa Democratic Caucus. My prediction is Hillary Clinton.

Not that I really give a hoot or know either team very well, but I'm pretty sure the Rockies will pull this one in. It's a no-brainer.
I'm with ~C4 on this one. Colorado has had a great run but I think Boston will prevail in this series.
Well, you could be right, John and ~C4Chaos. I mean, the only thing I'm going off of is a gut feeling, largely influenced by my surroundings, which happens to be much excitement for the Rockies.
But something I think both of you should consider is the Colorado altitude advantage. When the Red Sox come here, they'll be gasping for air, while the Rockies will be in the zone. On the other hand, when the Rockies go to Boston, though the Soxies will be in their comfort-zone, the Rockies will have the advantage of an extra boost of Oxygen, effectively turning them into super-hero-like athletes. No one will see it coming. No one but us. It will knock your red socks off!
If I wasn’t ruthlessly pleased by every glorious Red Sox hit, I would feel a little sad for you, Matthew, and all the other folk in the Boulder/Denver area. Luckily, I have no such scruples. Being a Sox fan, I am pleased to predictify that they are going to win. Or, perhaps, I will make a passive-agressive predictification and merely predictify that ~C4’s predictification will come true. Either way…
Hi Matthew - we'll see if you're right about the altitude tonight. The talk here in Boston is that there is some concern about Dice-K's breaking balls not breaking enough in the thin Colorado air. (For non-baseball fans - don't worry, this isn't as painful as it sounds!)
Sounds like I might need to take a trip to Colorado to boost my oxygen intake! Do the super -hero powers apply to data-geek project managers, too?
Probably. I wouldn't see what not.
