Bend This, Biatch!

James Randi debunking on Tonight Show
Here's a classic video of the Amazing Randi debunking the psychic powers of Uri Geller and faith healing. While Randi's rather simplistic simulations of "trickery" prove to explain and debunk the tricksters, they still don't explain the small percentage of authentic psychics and healers. Still, Randi is doing a service of exposing the frauds.

Incidentally, Brian posted a video of Gerard Senehi bending spoons on the Ellen Degeneres Show. As you will see, Randi's telekinetic techniques are child's play compared to what Gerard can do. Good thing that Gerard is not claiming to be a psychic. Instead, he calls himself a mentalist. This get the skeptics off his back.

But I can somehow read Gerard's mind while he's bending a spoon. He's thinking of Randi and the know-it-all skeptics: Bend this, biatch! Bend this!

Love Randi.  Thanks for posting!

Two things:  while I would agree that Randi hasn't here explained all psychics and healers, nor that any skeptic has, I'm not sure that there are any authentic psychics and healers that need explaining, nor that those whom seem authentic now will never beexplained, either as  frauds or something else consistent with with a typical skeptic's worldview. I remain unconvinced either way on the existence of   'authentic' psychics/healers.  I

I had something else to say too but when I looked at B's link to the 3 of clubs  it shut me up good.  Damn it all…
