10:15 am --  Engaging with Bloggers: Working the Blogosphere

Speakers: Halley Suitt, Janet Johnson, Buzz Bruggeman

notes:

-- everybody should have an aggregator categorized accordingly (e.g.  business, politics, personal, technology, etc...)

-- read people's blog for about a month to know what they write about so you'll know how to engage them

-- bloggers are your intelligent agents

-- "Blogs, the survey finds, are as individual as the people who keep them. However, most bloggers are primarily interested in creative, personal expression – documenting individual experiences, sharing practical knowledge, or just keeping in touch with friends and family."

-- the more you write the better you write. practice. seek to engage. see what people are writing about.

-- people want to create. incredible desire to create!

-- everything is transparent now and there's no going back.

-- you don't get points for shyness, for not taking a stand.

-- Priceline rocks!

-- if you're a single man who wants to hook it up with chicks. go to blogher conference :)

-- conversations are on comments

-- how to engage the blogger? read the comments! post on the comments.

-- on competition: the more people you're working with, the more you learn.

-- you get huge a amount of market intelligence for free

-- nearly fatal mistake: #1 letting the inventor be the CEO; #2 not raising smart money; #3 pay professional writer to tell our personal story.

-- respond to negativity by asking, "how can we make our products better?"

-- product idea: what's the fastest group of computer users?
demographics: people of 50s.. aka the boomers

-- economics of abundance
